Top 5 Fast Food Apps in Europe Q1 2021: A Sensor Tower Report

As we step into 2021, the fast food and fast casual restaurant industry continues to adapt and evolve, particularly in the digital space. Sensor Tower's data provides us with insight into how the top restaurant apps have performed in Europe during the first quarter of the year. Here's a look at the key metrics from five major players.

McDonald’s - Non-US saw a fluctuation in downloads throughout the quarter, starting with 625K in the last week of December and peaking at 940K in the first week of February. Weekly active users followed an upward trend, growing from 6.6M to nearly 9M by the end of March.

Burger King® experienced a steady increase in downloads, beginning at 254K and climbing to 281K in early March, before settling at around 261K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users saw a similar rise, starting at 3M and reaching just over 3.1M in the final week of March.

On the other hand, KFC: Food delivery. downloads showed a slight decline from 249K to 207K over the quarter. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, with a slight dip from 2.9M to 2.7M.

Domino's Pizza Delivery had a mixed quarter, with downloads peaking at 181K in late January and then decreasing to 133K by the end of March. Their weekly active users peaked at 739K in late January and followed a slight downward trajectory to end at 699K.

Lastly, Subway® - Official App saw its downloads start at 46K and reach a high of 66K in early February, before dropping back to 47K. The number of weekly active users showed growth from 136K to a peak of 176K in the same period, before slightly decreasing to 166K.
